Established in 1970, the Carleton, Michigan float glass facility represents Guardian's first float glass plant. The second line was constructed in 1973. Guardian Carleton is the only double line and is the largest float glass facility in the company.

In addition to float glass for architectural, automotive and electronics applications, Guardian Carleton also produces a wide range of tempered and coated glass products such as Low-Emissivity glasses for high performance window applications.

The Carleton plant employs more than 460 people and ships glass to 47 countries in 6 Continents around the world.
